My camera doesn't work

Someone in this house... who again will go unnamed... dropped my camera Saturday on hard flooring. Now it doesn't work.

I called Canon and they said it would take up to 3 weeks to repair. I was also told if there are dents, scratches or signs of damage on the camera, the warranty will not cover the repair. Well, this camera has been in my purse for the last 4 months going everywhere with us and been dropped a couple of times. Of course it has signs of wear and damage. UGH! I think I'm going to be sick!
